Britain’s Gaza Secrets Exposed: Dispatches - shown on Channel 4 on September 25th and now online here

Drawing on hundreds of pages of internal government documents publicly revealed for the first time, Dispatches investigates how ministers responded to evidence of potential war crimes in Gaza and raises serious questions about whether the government’s system subjected that evidence to sufficiently robust scrutiny.

A major Channel 4 Dispatches investigation has obtained internal Foreign Office legal assessments examining Israel’s military conduct in Gaza. These assessments informed the government’s decisions on ongoing arms sales to Israel. The film reveals that despite examining evidence including hundreds of graphic videos showing civilians being killed, the UK government decided that Israel was complying with international law and therefore did not, until Labour took power in 2024, halt any arms exports to Israel.
